Our Mission
Oxbridge Mentors exists because the admissions process for top universities is opaque, high-stakes, and overwhelmingly tilted towards those with insider knowledge. Students at well-resourced schools benefit from teachers who know the system. Everyone else is left guessing.
We level that playing field. Every tutor on our team is a graduate of Oxford or Cambridge. They understand what strong looks like, not from reading about it, but from having lived it. That first-hand experience is what makes our support genuinely useful rather than generic.
What Sets Us Apart
Most tutoring agencies are marketplaces. They recruit widely, vet loosely, and leave quality to chance. We work differently.
Every Oxbridge Mentors tutor is an Oxbridge graduate, personally interviewed by us, and matched to students based on subject expertise, teaching style, and target university. We don’t just connect students with tutors. We actively manage the relationship, monitor progress, and ensure every session moves the student forward.
That relationship is supported by our full custom student portal. Each student follows a tailored syllabus tracker and learning plan built by Oxbridge Mentors, so no critical topic is missed and confidence grows through clear, structured progress.
Parents also get transparent oversight through the portal, including lesson-by-lesson updates, what was completed, next actions, and streamlined payment tracking in one place.
Our tutors understand the nuances that matter: how Oxbridge interviews actually work, what admissions tutors look for in a personal statement, which admissions test topics your school probably hasn’t covered, and how to build the kind of genuine subject engagement that can’t be faked.
Our Approach
We take a holistic approach to student development. Rather than cramming facts or rehearsing scripted answers, we help students build the independent thinking, intellectual curiosity, and academic confidence that top universities reward.
This means our work often starts months before the application deadline, helping students engage with their subject through supercurricular reading, develop problem-solving intuition through admissions test preparation, and practise articulating ideas clearly through mock interviews.
The result is students who walk into their interviews feeling prepared, not panicked, because they’ve spent months genuinely engaging with their subject, not weeks memorising stock answers.

What We Stand For
Oxbridge Graduates Only
Every tutor has personally been through the admissions process at Oxford or Cambridge.
Mentoring, Not Just Teaching
We build academic confidence and independent thinking, not dependency on a tutor.
Honesty Over Hype
We give realistic assessments. If a student isn't ready, we say so, and help them get ready.
Tailored to Each Student
Every programme is designed around the individual student's strengths, gaps, and goals.
Safeguarding
The safety of our students is our highest priority. All tutors working with under-18s have completed safeguarding induction and comply with our Code of Conduct. For full details, see our Terms of Service.
Communication boundaries are strictly enforced. Sessions are delivered via Zoom. Written communication takes place through supervised channels — private one-to-one messaging between tutors and students is not permitted. This protects students while maintaining a professional environment.
