What do full application packages cost?
Packages bundle statement work, test preparation, and mock interviews into a single upfront price. The top end of this market was documented by Cherwell, Oxford's student newspaper, in November 2025. We do not sell packages at these levels, and nothing at these prices is required to win an offer.

What actually drives the price?
Four factors explain almost all of the spread. First, the tutor: current undergraduates cost least, experienced graduates and career admissions tutors cost more. Second, the format: 1-to-1 costs more than group teaching but adapts to you. Third, scope: a raw teaching hour is cheaper than an hour that comes with marked work, mock interviews, and written progress reports. Fourth, brand: some of the most expensive providers are charging for their name, offices, and sales process rather than for anything that reaches the student.
When comparing quotes, reduce everything to one question: who exactly will teach me, and what happens in and around each hour?
Five red flags when comparing prices
- Large upfront packages with vague contents. If the per-hour maths is hidden, it is hidden for a reason.
- Success rates with no method. A percentage without a definition of who was counted, over which years, is marketing, not evidence.
- Anonymous tutors. You should know who teaches you and what their admissions credentials are before paying.
- No refund or cancellation terms in writing. Reputable providers publish them.
- No safeguarding policy. Anyone teaching under-18s should show DBS checks and a named safeguarding lead without being asked.
Where does Oxbridge Mentors sit?
Our 1-to-1 sessions start from over £50. Every tutor is an Oxford or Cambridge graduate, matched to the course you are applying for wherever possible. Each session comes with a written progress report in our student portal, alongside lesson recordings and a topic-by-topic knowledge tracker, so you and your parents can see exactly what an hour bought.
We quote exact prices only after a free 30-minute consultation, because the honest answer to "how much do I need" depends on your subject, timeline, and starting point. There is no package requirement and no pressure: our free classes and resources are open to everyone, whether or not you ever pay us.
