“We pay for a tutor every week. I still have no idea what happens in the lesson.”
It is the single most common thing parents tell us. You are paying serious money for one-to-one tuition and the lesson itself is a closed box. Feedback arrives as a three-line email, if it arrives at all. Ask your child how it went and the answer is “fine”. Whether the money is buying real progress comes down to guesswork.
The Oxbridge Mentors Student Portal closes that gap completely.
Take a look inside
These are real portal screens. Your child tracks their own progress as they go, and you can see where they stand at any moment.

Student dashboard
Lessons this week, study hours, flashcard activity and syllabus coverage on one screen. Progress against the target is obvious at a glance.
Knowledge tracker (syllabus mastery map)
Every topic mapped module by module, marked confident, in progress, or not yet started. Filter by source: A-Level specification, ESAT syllabus, common interview themes.

Secure messaging
Direct messages with the tutor, supervised by our admin team, so questions between lessons never leave a safeguarded channel.

Package store
Mock interviews, subject courses, admissions test preparation, personal statement review. Bought and managed inside the portal.
What the portal does
The technology behind the tutoring, built in-house. It is what lets a parent see the work and a student know exactly what to do next.
AI progress reports and lesson recordings
Every lesson is recorded, then transcribed and summarised automatically. The report sets out what was taught, how well your child grasped it, what to work on before next time, and the resources to revise from. It is in the portal within 24 to 48 hours. Your child can rewatch the moment a concept was explained instead of trying to remember it a week later.
Knowledge tracker and syllabus mastery map
Everything the application actually demands, A-Level specification content, admissions test syllabuses, and the themes that come up most often at interview, mapped topic by topic. Each one is marked confident, in progress, or not yet started, and it updates as your child works. Filter by subject or by module to find the weak spots, so revision time goes where it is needed rather than where it feels comfortable.
Flashcards and spaced repetition
Tutor-written and AI-generated flashcards run on spaced repetition, the most evidence-backed revision method there is. Accuracy is tracked card by card and the shaky ones come back more often. Daily streaks hold the habit together between sessions, which is where most of the real learning happens.
Secure messaging
Students and tutors message inside the portal: questions between lessons, resources, scheduling. Every thread is visible to our admin team, so safeguarding is built into the channel rather than bolted on afterwards. No personal phone numbers and no private messaging apps.
Seamless handover between tutors
We match a specialist to each subject, and interview practice deliberately puts your child in front of several different interviewers. Everywhere else, a new tutor means starting over. Here the portal keeps a running summary of what has been covered, where your child is strong and where they are shaky, updated after every lesson and visible to every tutor working with them. Each one arrives already briefed and pitches the first lesson correctly. That is the differentiator: adding a tutor adds expertise without costing your child a lesson of catch-up.
Package management and payments
Buy, top up and track packages without an email chain. Secure card payment through Stripe, invoices you can download, and a live count of the hours you have left. Sessions start from over £50, and you always know what you have bought and what remains.
What happens after a lesson
All of it is automatic. There is nothing for you to chase.
The lesson
One to one over Zoom or the portal video room, with a shared whiteboard.
AI does the admin
Recording, transcript, summary and recommended next tasks, generated automatically.
A human checks it
Our team reviews the report before release, then publishes it within 24 to 48 hours.
You read it
Log in to see what was covered, how your child is tracking, and what comes next.
How to get access
Start with a free consultation. When your child joins, we issue portal logins: one account for them, one for you. Every feature is live from day one, and the first progress report lands within 48 hours of the first lesson.
